I’m new to this process but I’d be willing to go out an a limb and say that not everyone is getting rejected. I took a quick glance at last year’s thread and here’s an example:
“Acceptance letter was dated for Friday, May 29. Received it today (June 1st).
Junior level transfer to Marshall.”
Relax.

I got acted on too! weeeeeee

hopefully its goooddd

for the ppl who did get acted on this morning, what are your majors and stats?

ughh. so the semester is over for me, but 2 of my instructors didn’t want to sign any requests for early grades until they knew for sure what I was getting. The problem is…the semester is over! They’re not responding to any of my e-mails; however, my Marshall prereq’s grade requests have been signed.

Overall happy with the semester: 9 classes; 8 A’s, 1 B (calculus, the only non A in my transcript)

What do you guys think I should do as far as tracking down the instructors that haven’t signed my SGR papers? Or should I just wait for a transcript? Unofficials may be available by the middle of next week.

A view of downtown LA from the goodyear blimp. For those with the keen eye, you’ll see the southern center part of the USC campus in one of the photos including Hoffman Hall for all you Marshall applicants :)

@budlightyear - If email/phoning them is not sufficient, you could just swing by during their offices hours though I would personally go the extra step of phoning the department chair to find out if that professor is still around or they already took off for vacation or something.

I think I got rejected. Am international and haven’t received any email from DHL. I feel like curling up in a ball and bawling my eyes out now.

Noooo @ madeforusc be positive. You never know until you get that package yourself, everyone’s different!! I’m sure you’ll be fine. Just be positive. I’m doing my best to remain positive as wellll :)

@hippo50

Rejections from the major we applied to or from the school in general? While I don’t necessarily expect to get into SCA for Screenwriting as they only accept 2 or 3 ppl a year, I’m hoping to be admitted to USC as undeclared.

@figggggggy

Thanks so much! I heard DHL’s closed on weekends so I’m praying that it just means my email will appear in my inbox tomorrow… Good luck to you!

@corvin- As you know I was rejected earlier from screenwriting. You could still get in as undeclared. What are your stats? I’m hoping you get in to SCA.

@Any Admitted Transfers

Has anyone received their transfer credit report yet? I want to see how many units will be transferring to USC. If you have, how long after your package did it show up, and what department are you in?

@wghiller

Thanks bro, I’m hoping too. But even getting in as undeclared would be awesome. Just being able to minor in something there and taking an internship in hollywood would be amazing.

My stats are somewhat good/bad. In 2008 I was in college but I received 3 F’s and a W b/c my dad lost his job, we almost lost the house, and my grandpa went in and out of the hospital. I picked up a lot more hours at work to try and help my family out. A few months later my grandfather passed away. I explained this to USC, so I hope they give me a little bit of a break.

This year I enrolled into community college and I had 26 credits from the fall semester with a 3.82 GPA, not including a class from UCLA Extension. This semester I got another 17 credits with a 3.75 GPA.

Acted on for CLAS Biological Sciences on 4/30, package showed 5/6. It was shipped 5/4. My transfer credit report was finished 5/13.

CLAS kinesiology here, my app was finally forwarded on 5/28, hasn’t been acted on yet =/

@ anyone - does anyone know why as a transfer with 100 cc semester units USC would put sophomore transfer on my acceptance? I recounted my credits and I have 88 transferable to USC so I’m just a little confused.

@jcarroll

lol that’s crazy…so u think it’s for sure a rejection huh?
is 3.7 ur overall gpa?
cuz thats pretty good, and u have 70 units…
i went to a different school before and got a really low gpa, but now at a different college im at a 3.8, but that doesn’t include my previous record…
it sucks, I sent out 3 letters of recs, one from a mayor, one from a ucla prof, and one from my philo prof. I sent out a letter of intent too later on. n I’ve been contacting the counselors. so i think u might be right that it’s not even about being persistent.
do u think usc doesn’t give chances to people with an academic trend like that?
what r ur plans for next yr? u plan on trying again?

64 is the max number of transferable credits to USC. Most schools have a cap like this.

@jcarroll

i just got the acted upon status now…u think rejections get sent out right around now?
I’m hoping for an SGR, but I’m pretty sure it’s not even that.

I’ve asked this before but never really got an answer. If you get rejected by your top two choices, will you still be able to get in as undeclared? THANKS!

@saras613 - You’d get the “We’re sorry but we’re unable to process your application at this time” status if you got an SGR. If it was acted upon, that means a decision has been rendered and you’ll get the decision in the mail soon.

saras613, both rejections and acceptances will be sent out, presumably.
