Thank GOD! My GPA is at 3.5 now, and spring starts next week. There is nowhere to go but up.

Good luck, guys! I know some of you had the same problem I did, and I really truly hope that everything works out for you guys the same way it did for me (you needed an 85% for a B in this class!) and I hope you guys have a prosperous spring semester followed by an epic summer of acceptance!

@ archieg, I KNEW you would do it ! haha, have faith in yourself! this must be a huge morale booster for you, things must be looking up for you, who knows, this may be first sign of you getting closer to that BIG ENVELOPE :).

@arcade like Kulakai said, 2 letters of rec is really standard and doesnt at all show that you’re desperate at all, and as long as the people writing it for you spoke highly of you in coherent English, then the recs should help you and you should be good to go. Definitely send it in.

Just wondering…did anyone else get like 10 letters from the Admissions office to verify all the basic application information? I honestly got at least 8 of the same letter. LOL

I’m soo nervous about the decisions…and we still have MONTHS left. One of my friends applying for frosh admissions just got his letter…CRAZY!

@deborahmei haha yea I have 8 as well, getting more can’t hurt right? I’m pretty sure it’s an error in their automated mailing system or something, or they’re just paranoid that you won’t get it in the mail, but seriously freshman applicants are getting their acceptances already?! I don’t remember freshmen getting it this early last year, or I could be wrong, does this mean OURS IS CLOSER since they’re done or in the process of finishing the freshmen applications?!

So about the “oncampus dorming” bit that everyone is talking about.

My best friend lives in Webb right now and his roommate is a senior. I know a lot of people who are older who live in the dorms but a majority to do move to off campus housing because of the wait list.

There’s a new apartment complex west of campus and they have accommodations for 8 people living in an apartment…the rent comes out to about 600. Worth checking out. I might be rooming with a couple of my friends there next year.

USC states that they have received my Profile information for financial aid, but that they have not received my FAFSA. When I completed my FAFSA, I signed it without a PIN. Can I expect that the process will be slower because of this, and that I should wait a week to see if it shows up on my received documents? Thanks.

@Dainese: Well, doing honors definitely doesn’t hurt. I am sure it is a plus because its a sign that you were willing, and able assuming you didn’t bomb your classes, to go above the bare minimum.

For others’ timing purposes, the transcripts that got to USC on 1/15 just showed up on USConnect today. So just shy of a month’s time.

Haha I know right? But I can imagine the rush only got bigger towards the end of january so I would give at least 5 weeks from when you think they’d get it before calling, although it can’t hurt to call early they’ll just say, call back later.

I am/was in the exact same situation. I called USC’s F/A office in the morning today and they told me even though I turned my FAFSA and the CSS PROFILE at the same time, the CSS PROFILE is the only thing that shows as processed in their system. They said they couldn’t locate my FAFSA information so the guy on the phone said he will flag my application so that the office can locate my FAFSA info.

I just got a email from FAFSA saying they finally processed everything (even though I turned in my mail-in signature PIN about a week back) and they will now send all the FAFSA information to the schools I selected.

You should call in to clarify things and then wait a week and see what happens.

Does the CSS profile show up in OASIS ? or does it show up in another site, I turned both my FAFSA and CSS also on the same day (last Saturday feb 6th), and it’s not showing up on the site I submitted my application or OASIS. Should I call and ask if they’ve received it? I’ve received confirmation in my e-mail that my application for FAFSA has been processed and my CSS Profile has been sent feb 08, should I just wait a couple more days for them to handle everything then call?

How long did it take anyone for the FAFSA or CSS profile to show up, if it has shown up on anyone’s USC profile?

Also, does anyone know how the Cal Grant Transfer form works? I currently have a Cal Grant for my university and USC says I need to do a transcript request form, but I’ve been trying the last couple days to do it but the Cal Grant system says that the service is unavailable, but the Cal Grant due date is March 2nd, which is coming near… does anyone know the solution to this?
