USC 2010 Transfer Thread

“Required: Selective Service Registration Status”
What is this and how do I go about checking this off?

Also, if I have just uploaded the Non-Filing Statement Form for Students, will it automatically check off Tax Return, 2009 - Student?

@purplenurple- i had the same thing on my status as well… go to [Selective Service System: Welcome](http://www.sss.gov) to register or call 1847-688-6888 for them to mail u the document if your already registered

Woot! They’ve finally received everything no more stress until May.

@socal4- What are the pop-up settings for your browser? That might be preventing you from accessing your document status. After selecting the “Document Status for 2010-2011” box, a window should pop up.The financial aid office might also help you with your technical difficulties. Hope this helps. ://

USplacer- Thank you so much!!! that was the problem lol

if my parents EFC is at 21815, how much financial aid/grants can i expect to get?

lol wow that is pretty high.

my EFC is like $3400 bc im poor

maybe im looking at the wrong number or something lol

USC Admissions is such a mess.

I’ve gotten about 12 of the same letter asking to review information. They keep sending me letters saying i haven’t sent my high school transcripts when online it says they recieved them. I just got off the phone with Financial Aid saying that they recieved my FAFSA and CSS months ago but an error occurred and it couldn’t be recorded.

It makes me not want to go to this school lol

@jhsocal- What am I even registering for? That site frustrates me because all it says is YOU MUST REGISTER and REGISTER NOW but I have no idea what it’s about. Is it some military thing? Not looking to get drafted…

^it means if there’s a war u can possibly get drafted into the military, everyone between 18-25 is obligated to register if they want to receive financial aid. if ur a US citizen, u should of automatically been registered already… in that case u just have to call them

the selective service requirement obviously only refer to males btw

for all business/marshall applicants, i remember @ the USC transfer fair that they said we can begin applying for marshall scholarships in march. anyone have any info about this?

Marshall scholarships are only available to current students.

yeah i just looked on the marshall site and only saw scholarships for returning students.

@lakersfover - i was reading other usc thread…
did you really put GOD as your favorite fictional charcter? LOL thats hilarious since your favorite book was the Holy Bible. I am soooo bored right now and I just thought that was classic

Hey guys so i sent in my hs transcript and one of my college transcripts on february 1st, and a letter of rec and my second college transcripts around feb 7-10th. Until I called them, nothing but the HS transcript showed up, however, once i called they said they recieved everything except the second college transcript. Its been 3-4 weeks now, should I remail it?

haha in my short takes under dream job i wrote “My dream job is a future doctor, but more realistically, CEO of the world!!”

btw anybody know anything about the financial aid?

I have an EFC=0 (go team divorced parents, and choosing the poorer one!)

Cal grant will give 10,000, Pel Grant 5,000. 52k-15k= 37k … How much does USC itself generally give?
