USC and Common App Essay Topics Similar?

<p>Okay so couldn’t I pretty much use the same essay for these two topics?</p>

<p>NYU Common App Topic:</p>

<p>Evaluate a significant experience, achievement, risk you have taken, or ethical dilemma you have faced and its impact on you.</p>

<p>USC Topic:</p>

<p>USC’s speaker series What Matters to Me and Why asks faculty and staff to reflect on their values, beliefs, and motivations. Presenters talk about choices they have made, difficulties encountered and commitments solidified. Write an essay about an event or experience that helped you learn what is important to you and why it is important.</p>

<p>If I chose to write about a significant experience and it’s impact and what I learned from it for the CommonApp Essay, wouldn’t I be able to use it for USC’s as well?</p>

<p>USC does not use the Common App so they will not see that essay, and I am doing the same</p>

<p>Yeah, I think I’m also going to retool my significant experience essay that I’m using for the Common App and use it for USC.</p>
