I still haven’t gotten anything… Has anyone heard news, either positive or negative?

got mine today. at 4:59 pacific time. i’m in :)

Congratulations coffeespoons. Were you accepted as a Fall or Spring admit?

nothing still…give up for the day…hope something will happen tmr

Remember to check your junk mail folders as well! Sometimes these emails get confused as spam.

so nothing’s coming today?
i guess lets just hope for tomorrow…

I was accepted in the fall of 2012. like the other poster said they put me on a program. I originally thought i didnt get in because the letter was misleading until i got to “however in this case…”. Best of luck to the rest of you. FIGHT ON!!!

At 9:00 PM Pacific Time Megan received notification “We stand by our original decision.” She is crushed . . . again!!! Oh well, she will attend UC Davis in the fall.

Literally just got mine. They want me to transfer. Lame. Well, I’m ****ed. Not only was I legacy, but a top choice for the music school in undergrad on the instrument I auditioned on.

rdakker, are you referring to wording similar to this:

“After reviewing your application, we determined that you are among a special group of students whose eventual enrollment at USC is of great interest to us. As such, we have set aside the final weeks in June, from the 13th to the 30th, for you to meet with a member of our admission staff. Our aim is to counsel you subsequent to your high school graduation and help you establish a personalized transfer plan. Such a plan may assist you in gaining admission to USC as a transfer student within the next two or three semesters.”

If so, this is not an acceptance. If not and indeed they have used the word “accepted for Fall 2012,” I’m sure other appealers would like to know the wording your email contained (this would be the first anyone’s heard of such a thing).

“Your application was carefully reviewed by the admission committee. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer you admission to USC for the fall 2011 semester. However, the committee recognized your academic potential. If you will agree to, and complete, the following terms and conditions, we are offering you admission to the fall 2012 class:”

Just got mine. No go. Good luck to everyone else.

Hey Rdakker That is awesome! I have never seen anything like that done at USC. This has been a different year for admissions all around. So are they requesting that your complete certain classes for your major at a school outside of USC while maintaining a specific GPA? So If you meet those conditions they will give you admission to USC next year?

megansdad, amburcrowe, gold3n so sorry that your appeal was not successful. I wish all of you and megandads daughter success and happiness.

^ Yeah thats basically it while getting a certain amount of credits, though I already have so many college credits due to AP courses and community college level courses. After speaking with them i am hoping i can sneak into spring 2012, if not then o well. 2012 guaranteed admission is great =)

It’s a no go for me… Oh well who needs USC when you’re getting help from UC Berkeley alumni to try and transfer?

Thanks bbgg, I’ll be transfering in a year so its not the end of the world. In the mean time, Chapman, here I come.

not to butt in and change the atmosphere, but since the appeal decisions have been made and housing went out today, does this mean spring admits will be notified soon about being moved to fall? My major’s psych and im dying to move to the fall. i don’t know how popular that major is at usc, but im hoping this year it wont be!

It was a no for my daughter. We are very disappointed. Wish we could go back to last November and do things different, but we can’t. So I guess the top of the class is going to junior college. But I hear that transferring isn’t easy either. My daughters major and life plan is to be a singer/songwriter, so her college choices we limited. We live in a small town with no opportunities, that is why usc and their music dept was so important.
I’m sure it will all work out in some way.

lindem100, your daughter auditioned for a performance program (at Thornton) and only applied to one school? I am so sorry to hear that! If you haven’t already, you might learn quite a lot on cc’s Music Forum (including the fact that there are never any safeties where audition-based programs are concerned, whether at conservatories or university-based music schools; the audition is the single most important factor, even above grades/test scores).

But it’s not to late. There is a ton of info there that will help your daughter plan to transfer in to USC or another music program that fits her aspirations. Off the top of my head, Berklee and Cal Arts come to mind.

Best of luck!
