*******USC Class of 2020 Results/Discussion Thread**********

I’m expecting nothing until Friday, but this is torture. I hear from Berkeley tomorrow too…so much likely rejection in one week.

GUYS CHECK USPS ONLINE THIS IS NOT A DRILL I HAVE SOMETHING COMING THAT WAS JUST SCANNED INTO SF (I live 45min south of SF)!!! It doesn’t say where it came from but I haven’t ordered anything off online for months now so I don’t know what else it could be.

They just shipped them. I don’t think it’s in SF already.

@sodapop027 USC just sent the mail, there’s no way it would have made it to SF that quickly.

Hey I’m confused about the Spring and Fall admits thing. Does USC choose when you attend or did you pick in your app?

You guys are right but if they flew it (it is priority) there is a chance that it could have arrived already. The flight from LA to SF isn’t long at all.

I think they do Spring admit instead of waitlist. Like if you’re good but not super good they can take you to start school in spring instead of fall @darkhound173

How does the mail work? Is an acceptance usually a package? And is a rejection usually just a letter? I’m from New York and my usps account says I have no “packages” being shipped to my address at the moment. Should I be worried at all?

@darkhound173 Because USC does not have the waitlist program, they offer Spring admit instead. Being a Spring admit is not a choice, but rather it is for students for typically do not have as high of stats as fall admits. The reason why they do that is because they don’t have to report the lower scores of the spring admits.

Am I correct in assuming that the rejection letters arrive later than the acceptance packages? So if you are on the East Coast, the portal decision will be posted before either an acceptance or rejection would arrive?

Being a Spring admit actually sounds really nice.

@anon98760 Acceptances will be in a box package. Rejections will be in a regular white envelope. Both of these are not trackable so nothing would show on your USPS account.

I’m from American Samoa, and the post didn’t mention the island, so i guess I’m denied.

@dzdjdjango Acceptances are sent as priority mail and rejections are sent as regular mail. Therefore, acceptances will arrive before rejections do. Because mail time is unpredictable, the portal might be updated before a rejection mail arrives or vice versa.

That’s actually a huge relief I was bugging for a second. Thanks

@2020collegebound The blog post did mention 73 other countries, so you don’t know yet, good luck!

I’m in the majority for most of these except GPA…rip

So nothing should appear on my USPS?

Tbh I think if I got spring admit I’d just go visit my swedish family and work for them in Sweden. Either that or work at home for the fall semester. But I’m really hoping for Fall admit.

@map6789 Nope, nothing would show up on your USPS account because the mail is not trackable.
