*******USC Class of 2020 Results/Discussion Thread**********

You guys have a lot of faith with USPS delivery speed.

What I can said is that both my kids received the acceptance packages middle of the week (or was it end of the week?) after the portals were updated last year. We are in CO.

The only definite case of rejection is either the portal is saying so or receipt of the actual rejection letter.

SCA Applicant from CT. I got a phone call back in February saying I’d been chosen as a finalist for SCA’s Film and TV Production program. Apparently professors and deans get 45 applications and choose 3 out of each group, then call for an interview before taking you to committee. At least for production, I’m assuming SCA applicants who haven’t heard by now weren’t admitted. I’ve yet to hear, but am hoping I at least get into Marshall should I (likely) be denied from Film and TV. Don’t lose hope regardless, I could be totally wrong. Best of luck to everyone, Fight On!

I don’t know guys, I don’t think the message history has anything to do with decisions. If it’s a rejection or acceptance, it has to eventually be displayed in the current message section, so it might just be a system thing depending on location/counsellors.

Has anyone from the bay area received anything today? I got mail but nothing from USC so I don’t know if this means I’m rejected?

Pretty sure the Bay is a 2 day zone @pambeesly

@throwaway8ehj you are correct, I didn’t see that was a spring admission.

@map6789 As far as I can tell, that is the case. From a programming standpoint it makes sense that students with a different statuses could have differences in their portals. It is also possible that the correlation is entirely coincidental (sample size), and the cause of the different portal appearances is an unknown variable. We won’t know for sure until we receive decisions, but from what I’ve seen those with the ‘moved message’ (myself included) have lower stats on average.

i think the excitement of getting the mail is less than the stress of waiting and wasting days trying to figure out what is going on… I personally prefer an online decision. It could have just been Saturday to be privacy of home then send packets next week.

@Huey777 Thanks for the info, hopefully you’re right. I also got a call a few weeks back from a SCA prof, but he didn’t exclusively mention that I was a finalist. Do you think thats implied? He had good things to say about my app but I really don’t know how this process is working.
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

@emmagrace33 so the theory is that if admitted your Scholarship message will be in current messages and if denied (or spring) it is in Message history. Mine is in message history so I guess that would be a no or Spring according to what others have said.

@pleasetakemeusc and @Huey777 are you referring to calls a professor made to students back in Feb.? My son had a nice long conversation, and she said she really liked his supplements and creativity. Did you hear back again from prof? We were under the impression he’d find out along with everyone else this week. Is that what you assumed too or were SCA students notified differently?

Holy freaking shiz omg what. So mine hasn’t moved, and that might be a good sign?? Don’t get my hopes up like that lol

I really do hope that theory is incorrect

Yes! Just check USPS it’s 2 day delivery! Phewww

To all those celebrating their admission for FALL, does anyone have the scholarship message in Message History? For those of us that have to wait till decision is online, this would be a huge help to hear if this is truth or myth

so is it a bad thing if our scholarship info got moved???

@chucknblair on small sample thus far, nobody admitted for fall has had said theirs was moved so yes …not sure if fact

I’m going to just start bawling out of happiness if I get in tomorrow

I think the message thing may be random and records are getting updated in batches. It’s another one of those things that has come up every year and every year people say it means nothing. I think it even mentions it in the message that keeps getting posted over and over again in this group (telling the dates when packets are mailed, the date the portal is updated, etc.)

A part of me believes the mail will come tomorrow…another part of me is telling me to give up already :frowning:
