@Jeffw0w I agree…I believe that those who turn SO salty/nasty when being rejected from these reach schools (USC included!) probably had some aspect of that show through in their applications.

Do you think I have a chance at getting the 18,000 scholarship? I have a 4.45 GPA, 30 ACT (32 Superscore) and I was admitted into the BFA Stage Management program. I have 300+ hours of community service and I have numerous leadership titles at my school. I also own my own theatre company and I’ve done research in a cancer lab if being a self-starter helps anything. The only thing I would be worried about is my ACT score. Am I a good contender for receiving this scholarship? @WWWard @CADREAMIN
@SexMeUpLadies Yes. And they will also email to let you know when to check the FA portal… so you do not need to simply keep checking it tomorrow.

@arjelly Oh wow another IRGE person! I really love USC (not the price tho) and they are one of the few schools that has my main ec (polo - the horseback kind) so as of now it’s my first choice. I’m waiting on a few ivies but tbh I’m not expecting anything and I would be perfectly ok getting all rejections on wednesday lol. What about you?
@arjelly I pretty much have my heart set on Notre Dame, but I’m still waiting on FA from both schools, and I haven’t visited USC yet, but I have a friend in Dornsife that loves it, so we shall see!
@creampuff72 ucla or usc is looking like the move so far - coming from seattle, nothing beats california weather for me haha… also waiting for financial aid and a couple decisions on wednesday, but same, not expecting much. that’s so cool that you play polo, i’ve never met anyone who does!

For anyone who is wait listed…I don’t know how many are in this situation but hope it will help in the future. My son got wait listed for his first choice, dance major. He also applied for biology as his second choice major. He did not get acceptance box or denial letter. His portal was not updated. He emailed both the university and dance school. The answer is that as long as he remains on the wait list, he will not be reviewed by his 2nd choice major and thus everything is in suspension. Depending on when the accepted students notify USC dance, he could remain on the list as late as before school starts!

What? Really? That is the strangest thing I have heard, did they give you any odds on Thornton opening up for you? I am surprised they don’t evaluate in the second major just because of being locked up by the waitlist. Did he email his Admissions representative or just general admissions person? Not that they would tell you wrong, just wondering if anyone else could have a different answer (like one you like).
It is great he emailed and is handling it, but have you considered calling to verify or just give it another go? I just don’t get that he wasn’t evaluated for his second. Will they ever consider it? If denied it’s one thing, but they say not considered? Sounds odd and stressful. Keep me posted or pm anytime.
