USC Class of 2024 Applicants Thread

@WWWard Thank you so much for going the extra mile in helping me! As a first-gen (first in my family overall to go to college), this process has been rather confusing at times as I navigate myself through the majoirty of all of this. Again, thank you!

@CarBarlos You’re welcome. Hopefully the FA offering will be such that you can attend. Good luck.

Hi Everyone!

Does anyone who is currently attending USC know about the Business Cinematic Arts (BCA) Program or have already graduated from this program? I want to know about how the classes work and the internship opportunities offered through this program.

Does anyone have thoughts on whether fall 2020 classes could start out online due to COVID 19?

Not yet, one day at a time.

@tth722 A good source for details on anything academic at USC is their catalogue. Here are the details on that major:

@WWWard

Would @CarBarlos not be a good candidate for USC’s new financial aid expansion policy that benefits low and middle-income households with assets less than $80,000?

Yes he would be considered for that automatically if he meets the requirements. None of us online know the entire financial picture of someone else as we don’t have the family portfolio…he says income is obviously less than $80K, and if we assume they have the typical assets, that again checks the box, but in actuality, we don’t really know. USC will.

Yes… as stated above ^^^

Hi,

After submitting deposit, did you receive the email notification about activating your USC NetID and myUSC portal? I have not received anything,

Simply, Did you activate your USC NetID and myUSC portal?

Curious if anyone out there is still waiting on the FA package? It’s getting dangerously close to commitment day and we’re all anxious as all the other schools are doing the hard core sell right now.

@VivienL I’m still waiting on FA.

@VivienL There is a group of us still waiting on tuition exchange scholarship information. Two weeks is not a lot of time to digest the information, especially if the news isn’t as good as we hoped.

I hope USC moves commitment day back this year. I have a feeling that they may be requesting even more docs from me, so who knows when I’ll get my FA package.

I think we should ask if they’ll move commitment day back. You’re right in that it does not give us enough time to bounce back with a decision…

Did you activate your USC NetID and myUSC portal? Did you receive any instruction how to do it?

I emailed USC because I need my USC NetID to sign up for the allergen awareness station. They replied that after May 1st they will be sending out information about creating a NetID and portal.

Financial Aid is requesting more documents from us, and one is what they call “Expected 2020 Income Declaration Form - Parent” but we can’t find that on their Document Library in FAST. We have emailed them but since I know it can take a little while til they reply, has anyone else been asked for that and if so, have you found it somewhere? Thanks.

@CAtransplant Try calling them. They’ve been really good about answering calls - even if you do have to wait on hold for a bit. I’ve called a few times and they’re always helpful. They can look up your account and confirm documents have been received etc. I’ll bet they can tell you more about that declaration form.
