@TigerInWinter I do agree that Princeton truly doesn’t care if you have visited campus. There are definitely a few that do NOT. But I do think there are some that notice that would surprise you.
@CindyLeuWho My DD received her acceptance to Emerson on March 16th. Was the announcement postponed from a month earlier?? At any rate, fingers crossed for everyone! The anxiety is greater this year because we’re all at home with nothing else to do but refresh our portals. ha!
My DD was very clear in her application with demonstrated interest. She was very thorough as to why USC was her first choice. We felt that was enough. I guess we’ll see.
@VivienL
It was sent out March 17th. (I was an EA applicant)
“ The Emerson College community is excited to welcome you to the incoming class in Fall 2020. However, we understand that the rapidly changing COVID-19 developments may impact the time you need to make your college decision. In order to allow you to make an informed choice, Emerson will extend the enrollment deposit deadline from May 1st to June 1st. “
It’s probably to see if the virus calms down by next month so people can visit, or just to give time to ruminate on decisions. I wonder if usc will do something similar. I would hope so.
Just to make everything clear, I confirmed with my counselor again and turned out that I misunderstood his point! Yep, sadly no package this year. 3/26 was correct in some way but idk where in my interpretation 2pm came from.
On USCs portal on the second slide, there is an updated image about how uSC has connected with veritax which began this year. But not everyone received an email from them. It says that veritax quickens the FA process
@biochemmajor11 But does it mean FA for admitted students? That is what worries a lot of us who haven’t received such a request. If it was an automated request send due to unclear info on your FASFA it would be less worrisome; but since it is a paid service for USC that current students use and it wouldn’t be reasonable for them to pay extra for FA for students they waitlist or reject, it is something to be skeptical about.
Although some purport that some people still get rejected with the request, there has been a lot of changes to the admit process this year because of COVID-19 and just because USC is continuously changing their process so there is reason to believe there is an association between the two.
Of cource we will find out in a couple of days (as many keep saying), but it would be so much more calming to certainly know if there is a correlation or not (which is unrealistic to know). This process is so random!
Did anyone from SCA or Film prod. get the request for veri-TAX?
@biochemmajor11 You have to chill with the veritax questions, it’s getting really annoying at this point. Many have already answered your questions, including Cadreamin. You’re making people stressed out who didn’t receive one for no reason.
@biochemrelaxxx
Please be more understandable. If you are getting annoyed at others asking the “same questions” turn off your notifications. It is rude to downplay someone else’s worries and anxieties. They have a right to post what they want, and you have the right to ignore it (and the right to be annoyed at it, but its more productive for you to just ignore it than for people to keep trying to stop it).
This goes to everyone. Feel free to answer people’s questions, and feel free to not answer.
Thank you @CindyLeuWho
Anyways, how do you know veritax is a paid service? Also, have you seen anyone get rejected that received the email? People are saying some got rejected but I cant find anything of the sort. And how do you know it is not an automated request due to unclear fafsa information?
@CindyLeuWho it’s understandable when you ask it once or twice, not 40 times, like biochemmajor. It’s not ok when it’s making other people unnecessarily anxious like in your post, #1286. Many ask questions already answered, and that ok. At this point biochemm major is spaming the same stuff, when dozens of users already say FA and Admissions are separate and it’s just automated. It’s also clogging up this thread for people with serious discussion.
People may find this veritax information useful, and no, the information provided has not been succint. I have been given conflicting information.
Thank you @CADREAMIN for all of your thoughts! I told my daughter what you said and we will just hold our breath when she opens the portals on the 26th.
@CindyLeuWho I’m applying as a film prod major and did not get the request…
@biochemmajor11 decisions come out in 1 week. All you are trying to do is figure out if you got in early. You are getting conflicting info because you keep bringing up new questions and confusing many. All that I’m saying is that most people did not receive a veri-tax request, hence you are making them worried.
I suggest starting a different thread for veritax. USC has announced that decisions will be available on the 26th which will provide ALL the answers anyone needs.
@foxfox have you received any contact form usc since applying?
@CindyLeuWho I got an invitation for an interview back in early to mid February. That was it.
Hey y’all! I’m anxious as ever and I’m hoping someone could answer this question for me! I received a follow request from a USC affiliated account on Instagram 3ish weeks ago. This USC account is followed by the official USCAnnenberg account. I did apply to the Annenberg school. I feel like there is no way this could possibly be a coincidence but I could also be overthinking it. My social media is very clean so I’m hoping this could be a positive sign! Thanks!!
omg wow dangg! let us know how it goes next week
