USC COA $95,225 for the 2024-25 school year

Just because a parent can afford to pay full tuition does not mean the child is spoiled and didn’t work just as hard to get in. Talk about stereotyping.

ok i guess it is all my fault

I know you didn’t mean it that way. It probably was taken out of context. My own kid is spoiled (he singularly has three BMWs) and I can’t afford to send him to USC.

Okay, I have to ask - three Beemers for one kid? Are they family ones or does he fix cars and it’s his hobby?

Do you mean one working motorcycle and two broken ones for parts?

No. Three running cars.

Not that you need to justify yourself. People can buy cars with their work earnings second-hand, etc. The COA for the upcoming year for many top schools, USC included, is considerable. The family income needed to help a student attend, in a HCL area or not, would have to be pretty high with retirement sorted out. A lot of families these days remember 2008-2010. So willingness to pay has been impacted - understandably.

Nah, just trying to divert negative attention from a HS senior poster from the wrath of some angry parent when it comes to the word “spoiled.”

I figure nothing else screams more more “spoiled” than a kid with a BMW, let alone three. Most kids decide which shoe to wear to school, mine thinks about which car he is driving. My coworkers make fun of me for allowing this to happen.

Your coworkers are not the only ones.

The term “spoiled” is far different from wealth/privilege. Spoiled is a sense of entitlement and arrogance.

Wealthy, middle class, and low income kids all can be “spoiled.”

The labels are not helpful…
