how many science courses will transfer into USC for non-science applicants? I have 3 right now.

nonstopskratchin - I’m glad I don’t know anyone else besides you all who applied. I wouldn’t be able to take the jealousy, if I found out they got in before I did… lol.

It wasn’t Hitler’s ghost. It was Beethoven’s ghost. How many people do you know who can dictate Beethoven’s whole childhood, adulthood, life accomplishments and death in German? Just me? Yea? I thought so. You all are so lucky to know me. and the delirium sets in

dear mapletree,
i would like your GPA.
sincerely,
ksbr27.

MEANWHILE. i just checked my status, still on #3 from 5/27 (dude, with the way adcom has been having some late night ~~partaaaaayzzz~~ with the status updates, i wanted to double check.) since it seems everyone is in the homestretch, i have a feeling status #3 is going to actually take longer than what it’s been taking. if that made sense.

I JUST WANT TO KNOW SO I CAN GIVE USC SOME CA$H THANKS.

idioteque-i am so delirious right now because all my profs moved finals up to THIS week. not NEXT week. when i saw my status update i started laughing because any other reaction would’ve been about as irrational.

j3nnyyx3- Yes I recieved a SGR about a few weeks ago. I sent in my grades last week. I still have the status: “We are unable to process the status of your application at this time…” I’m not sure what status # that one is. I’m applying for sophomore year, currently a freshman. I’ve got have 4.0 gpa.

has anyone who has gotten the “acted on status” THIS WEEK try the commitment deposit page yet?

ksbr27 is ‘acted on’ the last status? how many statuses do we have all together?

if ppl who got SGR hear before non-SGRs…I will blow up the admissions building with my extraordinary beauty. hahah!

It’s been a while since I’ve posted, but here’s a word of advice on the commitment deposit page.

If I were you guys who are waiting for a decision, I’d try logging into that thing once every day. You can only get good news from trying. If you logged in, that pretty much means that you’re in because they had to manually update the page to include your file which they will only take the trouble to do if you’re already accepted. If you can’t log in, like I wasn’t able to do, that doesn’t mean you’re rejected, just that they haven’t gotten to you yet. I tried logging in the week prior to receiving my acceptance and wasn’t able to do so until a week AFTER I was accepted. Another guy on CC WAS able to log in and he was accepted as well. So you see what I mean, you can only get good news. Plus, I wouldn’t worry about the fact that it’s monitored. Like I said, I tried logging in everyday for the week prior to my acceptance and it turned out fine for me.

a la idioteque - I am so lucky to know you. You have no idea how many times I’ve tried to list Beethoven’s life accomplishments in German only to have come up short.

Dear ksbr,

That may require an identity change on your part. I know someone who may be able to help, but if we follow his method, you may end up p issing off a lot of people and get your IP address banned. Think about it and let me know.

Yours truly,
mapletree

Dear USC,

ksbr wants to throw money in your direction, and you’re not even an exotic dancer. I think you should take her up on her offer.

-mapletree

PS. LOL @ this: ~~partaaaaayzzz~~

IsaacDelarge thanx for sharing this with us. I do it everyday and asked adcom at USC. she said this has nothing to do with our decision and assured that one can login as many time he/she wants if he/she is dat desperate. the page will only work if ur accepted.

missworld-the acted on status is the last status.
the MAIN sequence of statuses are:
- we have received and are reviewing your application.
- we are reviewing your application…decision by June 1.
- your application is being reviewed by the admission committee, we will mail their decision by June 1. If you don’t get our decision, you can call us and we will either boost your self-esteem or crush your dreams after June 11.
- your application has been acted on and a decision has been reached. we mailed it, kthxbye.

there are also SGR statuses:
“we are unable to process your status.”
“we have requested your spring grades.”
“we have received your spring grades and we will let you know of a decision by mid-july, so hahahahaha you get to wait, sucker.”

isaac-i am still on status #3, so i fear if i do it now, they’re going to be like “B!TCH JUMPED THE GUN reject.” so i will wait until the old acted on status pops up, even if my logic is irrational. right now everything is kind of irrational so i’ll just keep going on that entire “irrational logic” theme.

dear mapletree,
you know, i was thinking about that tactic, but alas, i prefer my IP to be free and happy as opposed to being banned every five seconds for making a new CollegeConfidential alias.
sincerely,
ksbr27.

ps-in your analogical note to USC, i’d like to think of USC as a cocktail waitress-they’ll take your money, but they’re super classy about it. and they have cute uniforms!

ksbr27 thanx for all dat info. i guess i am on no. 2, kind of freakin out since most of you r on no.3 and even 4. anyone else on No.2?

ok. so after going thru last years thread i am convinced that I am rejected because most of those people who received decisions in 1st of week june were rejected. Marshall have already sent out acceptances and SGRS.
Don’t freak out guys, for those who are on 3rd status, a decision has already been made and they will update the 4th status when they print out the letter and mail it (open the commitment page as well). this theory makes a lot of sense to me. or r they really slow dis year?

So 3rd status = decision has been made (even though it says reviewing ur application)
4th status = decision has been mailed out, the site and commitment page has been updated.

btw, is there an intermediary status between 3rd and 4th statuses that KSBR provided?

i really can’t believe that they will make bulk of decisions in these last 2 days. Monday is June 2nd, their mailing day. so those with 3rd status, congrats.

I do a lot of good guesswork, so I officially announce that I have already been REJECTED by Marhsall. I wish if they cud hve sent out my rejection letter earlier.

missworld - I believe I have been rejected too. I have been on stage 3 since 5/21, and I believe it hasn’t been changed to ‘acted on’ yet because they have not mailed out the rejection letters. They do that all at the same time. Also, my GPA was only 3.567 (lower than most of the people here), and SCA is highly competitive to begin with. I’m supposed to call a lady at DADA tonight, but since she is not on the admissions committee, I’m sure this has nothing to do with my application.

missworld- You think? I’ve never thought about 3rd status= already made a decision. hmm. I’m tempted. But I’ll wait until the acted on status bc if I can’t see the commitment page i’ll be mega :(

I just realized that would majorly freak me out, regardless of if it means that they haven’t activated it yet. So now I don’t know what I’ll do, lol.

OMG .

My financial aid documents are being reviewed right now.
WOOHOO. I’m such a stalker.

:)

Status as of
05/29/2008
Application Status
Financial Aid Eligibility - Being Reviewed

missworld- you should be admitted to USC because you a hottie. can someone
tell USC to send out the rejection letters sooner.
Usc24- no sgr, would be junior status

missworld- Last year, the average gpa for Marshall was a 3.7-3.8, so I think you have a good shot if you have pretty good EC’s, stellar essay, etc.

Ok peeps, I’m calling admissions exactly at 9, so to everyone who’s calling today, call after me lol.

WOT: My D’s financial status has said the same as yours since 5/14, and she got a spring grade request on 5/3. Hasn’t sent in the spring grades yet.

So, I am not sure what that status means “being reviewed” as far as financial aid. I expect it will stay that way until they get the spring grades and make a decision. If they are NOW reviewing your financial aid, I say the decision has already been made for you. ;)

where do you view your financial aid status??

Adding on to what Sunshadow said, my financial aid status has been the same as your guys’ since 4/2 and I got a spring grade request on 5/3 too. Hopefully, the status will change because I faxed my spring grades last Tuesday.
