Subjective:

* Essays: Wrote about my favorite chemistry teacher from my school and his impact on the way I think and essentially live. I thought it was clever.
Why USC: I wrote about the variety of programs available at USC and the ridiculously good networking there. USC would be able to not only give me a great academic foundation, but also the networking tools that facilitate a good life after my undergrad years.

 • Teacher Recs: I think they were all good. Sent 3 (Latin teacher, chemistry teacher, research mentor)
 • Counselor Rec: He always liked me and thought highly of me, so I assume that it was good.
 • EC highlights: Scientific research, Honor Code Committee, and Junior Classical League would definitely have to be my top 3.

Other Factors, hook?: I don’t think I got “hook,” but I like to think of myself is a generally well-rounded person. Although, being a National Merit Semifinalist (later named a Finalist) may have helped.

General Comments, scholarship chances, status info, going to USC…?: I am definitely going to USC, but financial aid may be an issue. Hope they give me enough need-based financial aid :]
