If he accepts the $2,500 award, yes he will still get the USC 1/2 tuition Presidential because that is a USC scholarship not a NMC award.

HOWEVER - NMF at USC receive an “extra” $1,000/year from NMC, which totals $4,000, so it is more advantageous than the $2,500 one-time award. Posters in the past have found that if they accept the $2,500 award, they no longer are eligible for the $1,000/year award.

Questions to ask USC: I am NMS, I am accepted, I have named USC as first choice - can you verify that I will receive the NMS Presidential 1/2 tuition award? Can you advise me on accepting the $2,500 one-time award? Is there a way to instead receive the $1,000/year award?

Question to ask of NMC - can you decline the $2,500 award to become eligible for the $1,000 at USC?

If you get a definitive answer on the $2,500 one-time award vs the $1,000 per year award, post to let us know!

P.S. CONGRATS on the $2,500 one-time award!
