Many colleges require similar surveys and training of incoming students. Both of my kids had to fill out something similar and do some type of online class. My son, who drinks very little (the occasional drink with us) and is a virgin, gave his school plenty of feedback on how limited the survey was, since it assumed that every student both got drunk and had multiple sex partners.
While I don’t agree with the cynical world view these surveys espouse (and also the false impression they give that the many students who don’t drink or sleep around are outliers), I do think they serve a purpose in getting young people to think about their choices and to maybe do things differently for their health and safety.
The attacks aren’t on conservative media. They’re on a piece of propaganda that is an outright lie whose sole purpose is to get people that they know won’t fact check them riled up.
There is nothing to have an intelligent conversation about here. There is an optional survey at a college. That’s not a story or a conservation.
LOL on this “What should really be made clear is that the survey is anonymous; the only information tracked is who did the training and (probably) who took the survey.” What else would be tracked?
Whether an individual took the survey could be tracked, without tracking the particular survey to the person. That would keep people from taking the survey more than once.
