USC Teacher Recommendations

Did you talk to your guidance counselor at your high school? If you are from California, your guidance counselor should be very familiar with admissions policy at USC. Also, in the fall, USC sends representatives to individual high schools and to regional events. I suggest you try to meet the USC rep when s/he comes to your high school and attend the USC regional event (see “USC on the Road”—USC web site for dates). My son’s high school had very specific guidelines to follow for recommendation letters, how many stamps on the envelope, size of envelope, etc. If your guidance counselor can’t help you, speak to the head of guidance counseling and/or your college guidance counselor at your high school. It is important to put down your USC ID# and your name in the correct places on the recommendation page(s). Also, last year, USC provided recommendation forms in its admissions packet brochure. Did you look for the recommendation forms to provide to those you want to write recommendations?
