Lucinda Carver has been with the Thornton School about 10 years. Below are a few highlights from her extensive biography, with emphasis on her career as a harpsichordist and pianist. (From Faculty Profiles-Thornton School of Music)

<pre><code>As a Fulbright Fellow she concertized extensively throughout Europe. She has performed as soloist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Musica Angelica, Capella Salisburgensis and Manhattan Philharmonic. Frequently took dual role as soloist/conductor in Mozart piano concerti with the Los Angeles Mozart Orchestra. Performed at various music festivals as featured soloist including Carmel Bach Festival and Prince George Music Festival. Her performances have been broadcast across the U.S. on NPR.
Active in in both the symphonic and operatic arenas, she has been proclaimed by Bernard Holland of the N.Y. Times “a find…a first-rate conductor”. She was music director and conductor of the Los Angeles Mozart Orchestra from 92 to 01.
Ms. Carver earned her doctor of musical arts from USC Thornton, an Artist Diploma from the Salzbrug “Mozarteum” and a master of music from the Manhattan School of Music. Her teachers include pianists Murray Perahia, Gary Graffman and John Perry.
