But of course I suspect a great many of us would not support active discrimination against Asians in the admission process even if it were not illegal. So, I’m guessing the “they can just go somewhere else” rationale wouldn’t sit well with those of us who would feel that way regardless of the legality of the discrimination, as you seem to suggest below.
