USC transfers.

haven’t heard anything yet… i can’t believe decisions are still 2 months away.

How late can we turn in a recommendation?
It’s still too early in the year to for me to request one from my teachers, but I’m pretty sure I can get to know them better by the end of April.

i’d try to get it in asap. they’re finishing up with freshmen and really starting to work on transfer apps. i’d make it a point to talk to the professor a few times… let them know that you want to transfer and why, and go ahead and ask them about a letter.

WHAT?? i read something here on CC that a recommendation was not required of transfer students. are you telling me otherwise??

Anyone else apply as a Philosophy major? Would that make admissions less competitive?

Anyone get a letter in the mail from USC today regarding status of USC application review process?

can anyone answer my question? lol

Letters aren’t required I believe

I believe they’re only required for certain majors (such as mine, COMM) but not for others. My Alt. major is philosophy and I believe they don’t require any letters of rec.

are they required of Marshall applicants?

hope not cuz I didn’t turn any rec. letter in.

Does USC require transfer applicants to submit test scores or recommendations?

^ as far as i know, test scores are only required for those who are applying with a less than 30 semester units.

and recommendations are only for those majors who require it, which I believe are only broadcast journalism, print journalism and one more which i forget.

I haven’t posted in about 2 months. But anyway, I will just add on:

Recommendation letters are not required, but they do help. Like darkintragedy said, letters are only required for certain majors. Some need 1 letter, and some need at least 3 (Cinema-Television). I’m not so sure for Marshall, check the website or application handbook.

what will usc think if i changed a class to a credit/ no credit grade ? (keep in mind ill only have 32 credits by the end of the year)

Got a letter from USC today. They said that there is 5% increase of apps from last year and they are taking 7% less this year. Joy! :(

laaame… i bet itll be even worse next year.

Is there anyone at USC whos not liking the place and the workload seem pretty overwhelming??

i got that letter too. also says we’ll know decision by june 1st, midjuly if spring grades requested. i hope some decisions come out earlier though. seems a long ways away

mid july? ouch.
