AHHHH i want in…

oh well, realistically im already preparing for SD.

yeah, well I guess they could do that too…maybe that’s the plan!

…but ask anyway, just in case…

i just called still nothing… i guess we wont be able to call again till wed right? Because of the 4th of july or might they be open on monday?

:( I’d say Wed the 5th cooblue… Most unis will be closed Monday, hell even my work is closed Monday and we never close on holidays.

ahh… damn that sucks…i don’t know what i’m going to do. i call everday even though i dont want to. before i know i’m just holding the phone pressing 1 then 3 then holding for a rep. I CAN’T CONTROL MYSELF! this thread is the equivalent to AA meetings for me

wow, can someone please explain how july 4 got rejected with those stats? there HAS to be a reason. i understand he’s only slightly above the GPA average, but seriously, he’s not applying from a CCC or anything so you can be left to assume that classes are somewhat challenging.

ugh, i just want to know now. this is getting ridiculous.

and thats true kingjames, i think its crazy that theyd reject him.

i think i am due for the same outcome

Here’s the calendar Cooblue: http://www.usc.edu/academics/calendar/

Yep, definitely closed on Monday and Tuesday.

maybe he didn’t fulfill as many USC requirements as they would have liked since he’s an incoming jr?

As for the rejections… I swear guys it’s always so random. Like I said before, it’s probably safe to assume that all of us that were(are) still waiting are pretty much wait listed. There may just not be enough spots this time. I agree, July 4 had really good stats, better than mine for sure… but who knows what the other people in his major were like this year… maybe they were averaging 3.8s with awesome ECs… it’s just hard to tell.

i am an even more bigger wild card, so far im the only engineer waiting…ugh!

I highly doubt those of us still waiting are waitlisted, especially if they just recently received our spring grades. I think it just takes time. My counselor told me she tried to fast track my decision but Annenberg is slow. So don’t assume you are waitlisted if you are still waiting, especially you UCR people who just got ur spring grades in. Good luck everyone. Way to be pessimistic mrpuppy. Although you just got accepted, so you obviously weren’t waitlisted. Fight On!

Haha, ok maybe I just meant… not waitlisted, but we were questionables. All of us that got asked for our spring grades they needed some more convincing. We obviously didn’t make the first pick, as we saw the many lucky get accepted in May… but there was also a cut, and we made that first cut. I guess my point was, we were sort of the questionables…
Fine… I don’t know what I’m trying to say… :p

July4: “dont stress on the C’s and D’s ya’ll…i got plenty of em’, and im still in the runnings…”
that may have had something to do with it, his cumulative is pretty high, but if there are Cs and Ds im sure they dont look too favorably on that. Just a guess.
No offence meant by this post by the way just trying to ease some tensions for the rest of us and justify why u may have been rejected

I’ve got Cs and Ds on my scripts as well… yet I seemed to have made it. Again… random…

he got c’s and d’s on his college transcripts? ok, now the rejection seems understandable

I don’t think of it as waitlisted. They had to wait for all the UCR people to submit grades before making their decisions, especially in the impacted majors. They’re trying to “Up” that admitted gpa average, so they want to look at all their applicants before deciding, especially for sophomore transfers. That’s my thought.

Fine… so I’m defeated
Everyone is a special case though, trust me guys. You’ve seen my stats, I was a *-poor student in FL. Yeah I turned my * around, but I still have to carry those bad transcripts with me. Just do the best you can, I guess, is the best we all can do. Sigh, I sound like an old man… heh, well I probably could be most of you guy’s older brother… so it works… it works.

in any event…it’s going to be interesting to see what happens in the next weeks…

mrpuppy, please keep us updated on your friend that has yet to hear from Marshall. Thanks!
