my restriction (holds) thing says updated as of 1:14pm on 7/17/2006. before it was updated on like 1/19/2006 or somewhere round taht date. there are no holds though. does this mean anything or is it worthless info?

here’s what mine says:

Activity Restrictions as of 02:00pm on 07/05/2006

No Activity Restriction.

Advisement needed for the Electrical Engineering.

however, i was admitted june 30

Machine - how many hours will you transfer. Maybe they thought you had enough at this point to wait a semester, and still graduate on time?

Tech - when did you send in your deposit? They must have posted the advisement afterwards on 7/5?

no i only have 52 quarter units (about 35 semester units), which doesn’t even include my ap credits. i dont know im just preparing for a worst case scenario. imma go pump some iron so i get my mind off this.

…just trying to help figure this out…

Collegegirl… nothing, my friend is still waiting…

Melgomez, and everyone else… I strongly encourage planning your schedule before you go to orientation. Before you go, if you can get your email setup, log on to http://my.usc.edu and build a schedule. You won’t be able to apply any changes or register for classes, but you can build a schedule and get them in your bucket at the bottom of the screen. Then, as soon as your hold is lifted you can add them to your schedule and submit changes… this will give you SUCH a huge head start and a better chance of getting into classes. That may have seemed confusing, but as soon as you can login to my.usc.edu and go to webreg it should make more sense. The point is, definitely, definitely know what you want before you go there… for example I spent 4 hours the night before planning my schedule, when I got to orientation I was done in about an hour and I have every class I wanted!

Schedule of classes if you can’t get into my.usc.edu yet:

http://www.usc.edu/soc

Good luck all…

By the way, looking at the schedule of classes, all of you waiting for Marshall should be able to get into Writ340, the upper divisional writing class we all need. The sections for Business majors still have quite a few openings. Also, like I said after I attended orientation last week, many schools open seats up on the day of orientation that are being reserved just for us transfer students, so even if a class says full, you may see a few seats pop up when you go to register. This is another reason why you should be ready. If there are 5 open seats, and 20 people that want them… yeah you get the picture… many thanks to ebay for the sniper training. :)

haha i would go to a community college as well. I gave 2 years of my life to UCR, im not gonna waste anymore time.

Has anyone else seen a change on Oasis “Restrictions & Holds”? What about you Hobo?

A spring admit would be harder for a girl that wanted to go through fall sorority rush…

a friend of mine from my school Hofstra University(4 year private in NY) got a Spring Admit to USC for Film Production this past spring, so they do admit some transfers for spring.

SexMachine: If they said its not horrible but its not what you think I would guess its a spring admit, I’d gladly take that over the rejection I got any day. To whoever asked if I was missing English, no. I took both English 1 and 2 at Hofstra. I was not missing anything, had all but 2 GEs that can be taken out of residence done already. Foreign lang, done. Diversity, done. Math, done(up to PreCalc in High school).

I just went on to oasis, i went into “Restrictions (HOLDS)” and it says…

Activity Restrictions as of 11:02am on 07/17/2006
No activity restrictions.

I had checked earlier this morning and the date was 03/20/2006 or something… all the other links say “RECORD DOES NOT EXIST”

any ideas?

well i called to see if maybe there had been a decision made based on the updated restrictions… but admiss rep said “my app is complete and they are still finalizing their decision”…

anyone else?

im put in a triple in troy hall east and i made a reassignment for a double. i called the housing office and said they were all full…so im basically stuck in a triple. DOES ANYBODY KNOW HOW IT IS LIVING IN A TRIPLE IN TROY HALL EAST!!!

we’re just worried about getting in…a triple would be great!

yea asiantrojan!!! a triple would be great!!

william -

are you waiting to hear from usc?

collegegirl: i think you have it right. i handed in my deposit at 10:00 in the morning at USC on the 5th, and I did receive a processing email later in the day.

oh, and most sororities have spring rush :)

Sex, i think what you need to do is try out the orientation login - see if you can login. that has worked for some, but not for me. I couldnt even login to oasis until after they received my deposit.

I think you got in Sex, but I think it will be for spring.

so after that - your advisement came up?
