Without going into specifics, I can say that the continuing scholarship was substantial (more than the average being reported). It was unexpected, D knew it was competitive, but it made a huge difference for our family and in the end, put the total package in the same range as the Freshman competitive scholarships. So never say never. We’re middle class but at an income level where we “thought” we wouldn’t get anything once D enrolled and we were wrong.

My inner circle has a motto too - to try is a “maybe”. To not try is a definite “no.” Don’t get hopes up, but don’t count the options out until the paperwork is in your hands.
