USC versus Cornell

Is the earning potential at a hotel management school worth the debt considering the alternative? I think it may depend what you want to end up doing and where you want to do it…if you want to work in LA, you’ll get the connects with USC, even though you may have an Ivy league credential if the people youre working with don;t know much about the problem then it may not open as many doors and you’ll still be stuck with the debt…getting into both schools is an accomplish obviously but it really all depend on what you want to do…if you are bored with Los Angeles my bet is that you’ll get bored with Ithaca quicker as there is supposedly much less to do and weather will prevent you from doing things a large part of the year…I live in LA and had an alumni interview for Cornell, i mentioned that i want to go into media and he told me that maybe i should look at USC becasue of there strong alumni base and connection to the industry…if going to cornell only means you can say you go to an Ivy, theres probably no point, but if you like the program, the campus, and you truly want to go away then cornell could work
