USC vs McGill

Rascalmuffin,

If you’re worried about not being able to party, then don’t be. I’ve spoken to several USC students and they say that girls are allowed in regardless of Greek affiliations, however, guys have a tougher time of getting into the parties (which are usually hosted by fraternities). Hence why, if you are a guy that wants to party, you should join a fraternity to guarantee it.

Although the misunderstanding about your original post is regrettable, the way that you phrased your question was loaded and appeared offensive. As it is especially difficult on the internet to discern tone of voice, etc, I would suggest putting extra care in the future before you post anything that could be considered offensive. This is especially because USC has come a long way from its former stereotype, and is working hard to convince doubters of its newfound academic achievements. From the first read, you just seemed like another one of these doubters.

I, for one, am getting pretty sick of hearing:
Friend/Teacher: Oh where are you going next year?
Me: USC
Friend/Teacher: Ah, the University of Spoiled Children/Second Choice.
Me: (Thank you for your tactless suggestion that I have no brains or talent.) …Actually no.

I really think that USC is a great choice for school next year (obviously haha). It’s big, but without being overwhelming like at a public school. The people are all incredibly friendly and supportive (Trojan family); the school spirit is fun and amazing (school spirit and pride is actually really important for me. I’ve gone to a school for 4 years where nobody really cares at all about it, and it’s pretty depressing). Basically, you’re going to get an excellent education and have a blast while doing it.

Another plus: SoCal weather! and Disneyland! and Seaworld! and Six Flags!

Hope that helps. :]
