USC vs UC Berkeley (and more) for (mainly) Comparative Literature

As an aspect I noted in the earlier topic, the OP punctuated UCB with an exclamation point. With this, perhaps she has answered her own question with respect to college selection.

Are you applying to the Thematic Option Honors Program at USC? It seems as if this might align with what you’re looking for, and enhance your experience. It’s also easier to add cross-disciplinary second-majors or minors here, compared to Berkeley.

I agree with MYOS that UCSB CCS is worth some due diligence before ruling it out - it’s a unique opportunity, and the campus environment sounds more like what you prefer (non-urban) than either UCB or USC. (Also, the coastal location keeps things cooler during the academic year - average highs are noticeably lower than at USC.)

Congrats on having great choices!

To borrow from JFK, it might be said that the OP would have the best of both worlds: a Hamilton education and a UC degree.
