Haven’t there always been people who are too trusting and therefore easily misled or scammed? Being too trusting of AI would be just another example of this.
A common example on these forums is the apparently commonly believed claim that there are only about 100 need-blind colleges. Unfortunately, it seems that AI often uses the incorrect sources for this claim in its training, so its responses on the subject reflect that.
I think I’ve heard this argument before on this forum. IIRC, it’s based on the fact that most public colleges are need-blind (and therefore undercounted), thus further illustrating my point that newcomers tend to arrive here with their own assumptions about what CCers are trying to say and will often hold on to them until the occasion arises when they are browbeaten into submission.
