<p>The Pell Grant is so low right now and yes it is a “marker” but the amount awarded is so much less than the private grants from the college that it just won’t work without the endowment funds. Pell has fallen behind in the ability to help low income students participate. For high achieving low income students who can get private grants all is well but for the rest it is not so easy.</p>
