USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate Boxes

Thanks all for your responses. The website says there are 4 boxes to choose from: Small ($4.80 online price); 2 Mediums - shirtbox and square-ish ($9.85); Large ($13.50). Arrival 2-3 days. It may be that I could get slightly cheaper rates at UPS or FedEx, but honestly I have so much to do right now that USPS one-stop shipping sounds like a bargain to me.

We had planned to do virtually all of our shopping in Indiana when we arrive, but then I remembered that school supplies are completely picked-over in the stores by late August. So we’ll do that shopping next week, and ship it a few days before we leave.

You all have me thinking though. I’ve decided we’ll definitely ship books by Flat Rate too, and maybe even things like bedding, towels, clothing, and HABA. That would leave only the large-and-bulkies to buy once we get there. It would be great if we could spend more of the orientation period on campus, and less in the stores.

LasMa, you should check if BBB still offers this deal: choose and order your stuff online and then pick up at a store near you kid’s college. It will save you a bundle on shipping costs as well as some time when you do the move-in.

Bunsen, we may end up doing that for bedding/towels. Only problem is, the nearest BBB to campus is in the next town over, an hour’s drive away. Unless we have to drive over there for other stuff (which we may), I might rather save the trip and pay for shipping instead. I’m holding onto a 20% BBB in-store coupon though, just in case. :)

Buy them online from Target.com and have them shipped directly to the school.
You can get free shipping.
