UT austin 2017/2018 Transfer Thread

@colanxgirl if it’s not by GPA then maybe it’s by hours

Someone from admissions just said that no decision has been sent out for any college. What is going on at admissions…

@TAMU2UTCS Who ever that admissions person is lied hardcore or is just as clueless as anyone else who picks up the phone. :open_mouth:

@colanxgirl My friend got accepted on April 10th. He’s going to orientation in June.

All i can say is that the system is so messed up, decisions shouldve been made earlier because somw students are needing to give answers to other institution or reserve housing if ever they got accepted, i think its really unfair on how their system works.

@impossiblethings im moody too and there is a couple student in moody that already got it and a couple that got denied. That being said its bad enough that rtf couldnt be selected as spring course transfer and we have to experience the agony where this long wait could be a rejection to us, which i am very much hoping it isnt.

@stoppingtheworld do you know what his major and GPA are?

I was accepted to Moody for Journalism on May 2nd.

3.9 GPA, 30+ hours (can’t remember the exact amount), 2 LOR, no extracurriculars however I used one of the essays to explain a serious illness that hit me my freshman year of college that kept me from participating in any clubs or volunteer work.

I got into McCombs around 3 pm on 4/30 with a 3.88461.

I think it’s random since they’re people with higher gpas than me and, all pre-reqs competed that are still waiting.

@Zeoxys When did you submit your application?

Anyone heard anything today? So tired of this waiting game

@colanxgirl I believe he had somewhere around a 3.9 GPA on about 50+ credit hours. He has not graduated from high school yet, he was working on his diploma and earning college credit at the CC simultaneously.

@TAMU2UTCS
I applied 12/25/17 Lol and had everything turned in around 1/7/08

@Zeoxys woah you applied really early, maybe that’s why

@ZiuallahK
I was told they don’t start looking at applications until after the March 1st deadline.

I also heard they compare everyone before they start making decisions instead of making them on a rolling basis but i could be wrong

Application date definitely has nothing to do with it, I applied in September of last year and I’ve heard nothing. Pretty unprofessional how long and uncoordinated they are with this process considering the prestige of the school. Makes me angry because it’s extremely unfair to students with competitive offers and makes the last minute housing scramble even worse, but what can you do.

Yeah I actually do remember someone telling me that transfer application date doesn’t matter. So IDK how they’re doing it.

I feel like next week as in monday-thurs/friday is going to be a big wave

@Zeoxys wait so did you not have all the prereqs for mccombs?

@tacoboi

I had all 4 pre-reqs completed before I applied.
sorry for any confusion

Hey could anyone chance me?

Appling as a sophomore from a top out of state public university
1st choice major: Textiles and Apparel (College of Natural sciences)
2nd: College of Education
3.9 GPA
49 credit hours
1 rec letter from UT alumni
a good resume and tons of EC’s, 2 okay essays
IB diploma

Also around when should I expect to hear back? Thanks

UT doesn’t care that much about when you turned your applications in, I technically finished mine only three or four days before the deadline because I was quadruple checking like a mad man.
