Wait, so, I know this is a dumb question, but the Plan II thing still confuses me - so if I haven’t heard from Plan II and assuming I didn’t get in, how does that relate to getting accepted to the actual college (natural sciences, in my case)? Are we supposed to hear everything at the same time, or are these two completely different things?

No they are two completely different decisions, separate of each other, as are the other honor admission offers. I received my plan ii admission last week, so i presume it was a wave of offers. after seeing the numbers of accepted i am surprised, i kind of thought it was like a general honors college that tons of kids got admitted to. i am out-of-state, 1%, 34 act. I still don’t entirely get the plan ii system. i was admitted to mccombs about a month back. i am still waiting on bhp. i had an interview and thought it went well. under either circumstance, whether i was accepted to bhp and plan ii or just plan ii, can i be in the business school and accept the plan ii offer? is plan ii that good or would it be normal for me to turn it down and still go to texas (since its easy to assume the yield is most affected by offers of admission that go to students who choose entirely different universities).

OK, thanks, that makes sense. Since I posted that question I also talked to an alumnus about the issue and he explained that most Plan II students have another major, as well. So you would be Plan II and business, I guess.

^ The Plan II website is deep. It would be a great idea to spend some time on it! [Plan II Honors Program, UT Austin](<a href=“Plan II Honors Program | Liberal Arts | UT - Austin”>Plan II Honors Program | Liberal Arts | UT - Austin)

I applied for the Plan II Honors, BHP, and McComb’s Business…

I got my automatic admission e-mail from UT the night I applied, but
does anyone know when exactly the acceptance letter into particular schools (in this case, McComb’s) will be sent out? In the e-mail it said BY late february, but does anyone have any experience knowing if it comes like earlier in February or later in March?

And for Plan II, I see that some of you guys have been accepted already. I applied in November. When should I find out??

I only just found this thread, but I got in back in December! I had applied before October 15.

So I applied to two honors programs - Plan II and LAH (and I don’t think I put any other major… as of now I’m in “Undergraduate Admissions” or whatever on the site). So if I get rejected from both, what happens to me? Can I still get into Liberal Arts even though I didn’t apply for a major in it, other than Plan II? Or am I just major/college-less?

Hmmm…I still haven’t received a reply about the Plan II honors program. I guess this means I was rejected, but I’m not sure. Does anyone know whether they are still mailing out letters? I’m not sure whether I should contact the admissions office and see whether my letter was lost in the mail or something. I’m kind of expecting a rejection though because I’m not in the top 1% like most other applicants…

On their Plan II Admissions Blog they say that all letters will be in the mail before or on February 25, which means everyone should hear back by March 2, and if you haven’t heard back by Mar. 15 or 19, email Jennifer Scalora.

Thanks debediah. I guess I will just wait and see.
