<p>i found the tone of the 1st article to be incredibly condescending-the line about Canada being like “an infatuated teenager” couldn’t be further from the truth. contrarily, Canadians consider the US to be our “closest friend and ally” because our geographic proximity, for the fact that it obviously pays to have a close relationship with the world’s only superpower, and because they are indeed our largest trade partner. also, in my experience the average Canadian dislikes rather than adores Americans based on the fact that, as the 2nd article suggested, as a general but not all-encompassing rule, they are incredibly ignorant of Canadian history, culture and life. as a dual citizen of both Canada and the United States, i have spent a LOT of time defending Americans rather than deflecting signs of “infatuation” with my citizenship, lol.</p>
