UVA or VCU to get into Baylor Medicine?

The single thing you can do that will most improve your chances of gaining acceptance to Baylor COM is for your family to move to Texas and become Texas residents.

Baylor COM is partially supported by the state of Texas. 3/4th of its students are from Texas. Last application cycle it had ~4100 OOS applicants and accepted 119 (47 of whom matriculated) for an OOS acceptance rate of just over 3%. Really lousy odds, IMO.

Right now your focus should be on being the best student you can be at the school you’ve been accepted to. If after a year at VCU, you are so unhappy that your grades are suffering, then and only then should you consider a transfer.
