@somi10 I’m in the same boat. I was accepted to UW Tacoma but I am waiting on Seattle. I called the Tacoma admissions office and asked if it would be better to wait or pay the 100 fee now. They said I should wait and that I would have until August 1st to pay the fee and commit to Tacoma. It might be different for Bothell but I would call their office to see what they have to say.

@Bronte104 I just heard back yesterday-- I got in!! They actually sent me the admissions packet first instead of the acceptance letter.

Has anyone heard back for fall transfer admissions? it feels like its been a few weeks since batch came out. the wait…sucks.

@remymo Congratulations! I got my acceptance letter too! I got it on May 24th on Friday.
I didn’t get a yellow envelope, but a huge white one and I was surprised when I opened it up and found out I got in! It says that if I haven’t yet received a formal letter, it will come in the mail soon! YAY!

I have a question-- does anyone know the rescind policy for transfer admissions? I was accepted with less than 45 credits for next year, and so far this year i’ve done really well in my classes. However, I’m not doing so hot in one of my classes this quarter, and it’s looking like I’ll get possibly under a 3.0 in it. Would the UW rescind my admission?

@remymo You should be fine as long as you arent failing any classes. If you have a few C’s then they may contact you regarding this dip in grades wondering if there was something going on that led to a sudden dip. But thats about it.

Earlier this week my parents received a call asking for donations to UW on behalf of me. My father said we were still waiting on a response, but do you think it’s worth noting that they called on behalf of me?

I was wondering if anyone knew anything about UW Bothell students transferring to UW Seattle? I have gone to UW Bothell this last year and applied to UW Seattle for autumn quarter. I still haven’t gotten anything in the mail. Is it harder to get in if you are already at UW Bothell?? I’m in such a panic mode.

@stefanysideris, usually it is harder to transfer from another 4 yr institution—which UW Bothell is. This is because for students from 2yr schools, they have a clear goal, getting a 4 yr degree. For students from 4 yrs, they have to provide a compelling reason to switch (e.g. Bothell doesn’t have the program i want, etc.).

To give some perspective, 80% of transfers are from two-year colleges while only 20% are from four-year colleges and universities.

<a href=“Transfer | Office of Admissions”>Transfer | Office of Admissions;

@stefanysideris Unfortunately, yes, it is harder to get into UW Seattle if you are already at a 4-year college, and this includes other UW campuses. It is also harder to get in if you have 45 quarter-credits or less of college-level work completed. It’s not impossible, but it is harder.

Hi all,

I have read through the entire forum and figured I might as well create an account and share this terrifying journey of acceptance/rejection with the rest of you all. Here’s to hoping that we all get in together.

Does anyone know when the next batch comes out? I’m seriously dying over here :(

Same over here I am wondering if @remymo and @Bronte104 are included in the second batches or are talking about Bothell/Tacoma.

I know one came out on the 20th for sure but I don’t know when their deadline to accept was.

@potatomawnster and @candela2 Thank you for your responses. So I do have over 45 credits which is good. I am at like 112 credits. My entire essay was about all of the resources that I want and need to use from UW Seattle that UWB doesn’t have. So hopefully that will help. My GPA is only average though; 3.5 -but that is with hard classes like physics 1, 2, 3, and some other sciences and math’s. I hate how stressful this is! At this point I feel like I have a 30% chance to get in and 70% not to. Does anyone know if transfers get waitlisted? Or is that just for freshmen?

I was wondering has anyone heard any news recently, such as an unofficial transcript loading, when the next batch is coming out, or something else that the rest of us might find of interest?

Haven’t heard anything yet. I got into the two other schools I applied to, now I’m just waiting on UW. Hopefully now that it’s June we will start hearing some news, whether good or bad. I hope everyone continues to let us know what you hear. We’re all in this together! Best of luck, everyone!

@jenny4399 I was wondering the same thing – I think I read in this thread or another one that the deposit for the last batch was due on June 5th and from I’ve notice and what people have been talking about the next back seems to come out around the same time as the previous batches deposits are due, so hopefully the next one will be really soon!

Thanks for the replies, it’s good to know that we aren’t in this alone.

I’m taking a class at UW this summer as a non-matriculated student, because BC doesn’t offer the last class I need for my AST. Unfortunately this means that my unofficial transcript has been loaded for quite awhile, but only includes the class for this summer, so I’m not sure this can be a “sign” for me! Anyone else have this problem?
