@barrons This really is the first time I’ve heard about Prof Goldrick-Rab and her “twitter incident”.

An outspoken University Wisconsin-Madison professor has tweeted herself into a world of controversy.

Sara Goldrick-Rab is under fire for finding future Badgers on Twitter and essentially encouraging them to take their money elsewhere — as well as for comparing Gov. Scott Walker to Adolf Hitler.

College Republicans blasted her on Wednesday, and on Thursday, Goldrick-Rab was rebuked by UW-Madison’s faculty governing group in a withering statement that said she hurt both academic freedom and the university “with inaccurate statements and misrepresentations.”

I’m betting that when she was made an offer by Temple, UW didn’t try to counter it…

The UW-Madison faculty governing group said in its statement that faculty support free speech and diversity of opinion, “as has been our tradition.”

“Such freedom requires responsible behavior and in this respect we are deeply dismayed with the actions Prof. Sara Goldrick-Rab has taken toward students and faculty on Twitter in recent weeks to discourage them from coming here. While claiming to stand for academic freedom, she has in fact damaged that principle and our institution with inaccurate statements and misrepresentations.”

My favorite part is the back on forth on tweeter between the Professor and the new group of Badgers…
