UWC Applicants for the 2013 school year!

And favorite memory…umm. Any point during Wrockstock 2010 or Leakycon 2011. The movie at LeakyCon was pretty fantastic (we got to see it 6 hours before it came out in the Universal theatre, just a walk a way from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter).

Mine was also when the last one came out. That day, I toured the college in Oxford where they filmed the dining hall (in the first two movies, I believe) and the main staircase (the one where Malfoy has that remark about choosing the right friends in the first movie) during my English History and Culture class I took that summer at the university. That night, I went out to dinner and to see the movie in Oxford with 10 of my friends there. It was really something seeing it in England, and having just seen the school.

@lunascreatures Thanks for the link! I will check it out later, but for now, break time is over and back to the books! The never ending mountain of homework…

@lindzmm No problem! Waves of nostalgia hitting right now…

I should go to bed soonish. And cry. I miss Harry Potter so much.
End of an Era by Oliver Boyd and the Remembralls is the perfect song if you want to cry, and oops, it just came on. Goodness me, it’s so saaaad.
“Don’t you ever wonder what
Will happen when it ends?
How can we let go of the
Ones who we call friends?

I will miss the train ride in.
And the pranks pulled by the twins.
And though it’s nowhere I have been
I’ll keep on smiling from the times I had with them.”

Man I get emotional easily at night…

Good night, all. Good luck for tomorrow!

Night! Thank you all for the great conversation! Best of luck :)

I wish all of you guys so so much luck! I bet you’re a storm of nerves right now.

Finishes the 106 AP Chem problems and sees all the fun conversation has taken place while I was gone…thanks guys

Whatever happens, happens. I put my all in the application and that all I can put in. I’m not as nervous as I expected myself to be. Not because I’m super confident, but because if I don’t get in, it’s for a reason. I’m happy where I am, and I’m super, super fortunate.

As much as I want this, I hope you guys get the spots over me, you deserve it.

Best of luck to everyone! Believe in yourself… you can do it!

AHHHHHH, i’d just like to share my excitement with you all!!! I am pleased to have found out I got a regional interview in NZ  GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL! I do feel as if finding out about pre-selections is a step closer towards changing our life forever (as someone mentioned above) Can we post advice and tips on here, regarding how to deal with interviews and questions that they could ask us?? This interview feels so so important now and I personally have never had an interview like this for any application. Can’t wait to discuss ideas that may help us out a little! Sorry i’ve just been popping in and out of this forum…

@mmrnz13 hey! did you apply to UWC USA directly or did you apply through your national committee? congratulations though!!

Well, doing some homework and then I’m off to school. I really really hope they tell us today!

Denmark again! Responses to apps will come out from the 25th - AARRRRGGAGAAF I’M SO NERVOUS

@alpacallama did you apply through the National Committee of Denmark?

i got rejected you guys :(

Awww, @Kyraerika I really really feel for you! When did you find out?

Are you in 10th or 11th grade? If it’s the former, you could always apply next year. If the former, just remember, it’s not the end of the world. There are many other options out there to experience the world and culture. Things that come to mind are exchange trips, volunteering (habitat for humanity) and many more. Just don’t lose hope is all I’m trying to say.

@kyraerika: I’m so sorry! :frowning: Hopefully you can apply next year? Did you apply through UWCUSA or through another country?

E-mails should be out by now

Hi there! I’m new here, but I’m interested in hearing about who has/hasn’t received their emails from UWC in terms of interviews? I haven’t heard anything yet.

Best of luck to everybody!

I haven’t received mine yet :frowning: so nervous!!! Lol
