<p>bulletandpima, i have known my couselor all my life for like 17 years. on the report she always marks that AP/IB is not offered and states that College Courses are avaliable. Then she always marks Most Difficult courseload.</p>
<p>I am not saying that they won’t hurt my transcript. I had no alternative though, there are all we’ve got.</p>
<p>I am sure if you have it covered, than you’ll have to do what everybody else does…sit and wait. You are unwilling to retake so that leaves you with no other options</p>
<p>Bret, do’nt know what your parent has done. But may be it’s your turn now. You should take the lead now. Your parent is not you. And if you show them you’re somebody! Then people will see you as a leader. And that would make your application stronger</p>
<p>thanks for the ideas, i’m on the school accrediation committee so i kind of already am doing some stuff. i’ve got some pretty good community service and stuff so thats what i wrote my essay on. :)</p>
<p>My school’s valedictorian did decently on the SAT (2040) but still a lot of people did better than her and so she took the ACT and got a 24…she in general is a terrible test taker in any timed tests actually.</p>
<p>What do you read for fun? Most avid readers I know get great SAT scores. Some are turned off by boring, underchallenging school classes and don’t get very good grades.</p>
<p>There are plenty of other students whose high school academic records are better than their standardized test scores. The good news is that most colleges weighthigh school achievement more heavily than standardized tests, and there are a number of selective schools that are SAT optional, that are tailor-made for someone with your profile.</p>
<p>Is “College Algebra” even precalculus? I think at our local community college “Algebra” is basic algebra. They have separate courses titled “Precalculus I” and “Precalculus II.”</p>
