I think that it was a just sentence. I hope the victim is able to go forward with her life.
The caption on the photo/video in that article says that “Vandenburg was found guilty of five counts of aggravated rape, two counts of aggravated sexual battery and one count of unlawful photography.”
And dang if he doesn’t look completely unrepentant in that video. Sickening.
The trial involved a very brave victim who had to endure telling her very graphic crime many times. At least this latest sentence gives her some justice.

What does this mean? Do you mean like when a TV news reporter says ‘caution, this video is graphic’? That statement never made any sense to me. When a crime is photographed or captured on camera, that doesn’t make it any less or any more egregious if it is an egregious crime.
I believe the judge had to sentence for at least 15 yrs and a max of 25. Batey got 15 yrs a couple month ago, so he did give Vandenburg more time, but he probably feels lucky that he did not get the 25. I would have given him 25!
