This sucks so bad. I’m from a community college so I HAVE to transfer this fall to finish my degree. I wish I could just have everything planned and scheduled so I can figure out where I’m living in 3 months.
@Warrior97 same!!! I hate not knowing
…
yup ditto on the cc thing.
What is Vandy’s logic behind doing this “rolling” notification? To me, it doesn’t make much sense. Wouldn’t it make more sense to have one notification date, accept a conservative amount of students (so they don’t overfill their class), and if they need more students to fill out the transfer class, just accept the most qualified off the waitlist? As much as I enjoy “Waves” by Kanye, I don’t really understand the logic behind releasing decisions in sporadic waves.
@newyorkgs dead over the kanye comment. lmao
maybe because they feel like they have better stuff to do than care about transfers. my counselor said “a lot of the counselors have other projects to worry about so the decisions for transfers aren’t set”. AKA Vandy doesn’t give AF about transfer admissions
Hey everyone, so a couple of weeks ago I put down a deposit on another school because I didn’t expect to get in anywhere else. Now I need to cancel my enrollment so I can put down the deposit for Vandy, but I’m not really sure how I am supposed to do it. Do I just email my counselor for that school and ask to have it cancelled?
@JackShort Chances are, they’re not going to give that money back, enrollment deposits are usually non-refundable. And for the enrollment yeah I would just email your counselor.
@Mastodon97 Yeah I’m not expecting to get the money back, I just want to be sure I do it in a respectful manner. Thanks!
does that mean the people who were accepted so far are the most qualified? im confused. what do you guys think? did the admissions already have decisions ready for all their candidates and are waiting to release it?
idk i’ve seen people with similar stats i think to mine accepted. and peoples who stats are higher than those people who don’t have decisions yet
It’s probably a mix of some people being more borderline, and some people just being later in the pile. I wouldn’t try and guess too much.
why is the day the deposit is due so early
So they can encourage us to decide on Vanderbilt before hearing back from many of their competitors, or without having time to appeal financial aid at other schools, making Vandy’s yield more predictable and allowing them to snatch up successful students who might otherwise attend another school.
if their is any people on this thread who currently go to vandy, please pm me. I have questions about the campus culture and am looking for people to talk to. Thanks
Ugh I just wish the admissions office knew how passionate i was about vanderbilt lol. like seriously it’s my top choice, even if i got into NU. i’ve been wearing nothing but vandy gear (stolen from my ex lol) for the past few days trying to generate some positive energy towards my application LMAO… i get thanked by a missed wave! Damn universe!
It’d be a tragedy if you didn’t get in. You’re obviously super passionate and I hope admissions sees that!
you guys keep me sane/positive
