Intially surprised but accepted candidates here look so strong and deserved! So, we are happy to still be in the game.

To all my deferred friends, you got this. Last year, I was in the same position and felt all the emotions. While your chances for admission are unknown, the important thing to remember is you’re not out. Use this as an opportunity to write an awesome letter of continued interest and explore schools with great programs. If it works out, then it was meant to be. If it doesn’t work out, then other schools were meant to be.

Awards: multiple state, regional and national science research awards Published multiple projects in peer reviewed exceptional journals (80+ hours/week spent / 3 yrs)

EC: varsity crew captain Editor in chief of school paper Worked in foreign countries developing emotional intelligence programs to help children understand the world around them Model congress All county French horn Tutor for disadvantaged kids// 4 years Many summer programs at various institutions for research and general academia Worked 2 jobs - restaurant and test prep

Essays were very good

Vandy prompt - about free speech and dealing with family members that argued my research // clever vs. kind

Was rejected ED at Duke Accepted UNC and UMICH EA
