<p>Academically, at the undergraduate level I would say Rice and Vanderbilt are the strongest. UCLA is the largest school and would be the most well-known internationally (strong graduate level programs).</p>
<p>Quality of life I would say Vanderbilt and USC are the best socially. However, an introvert would likely feel more comfortable at Rice.</p>
