Hawkette, nice post and thanks for the recognition.

VU vs NU:

MOWC beat me to it; the weather was my first thought. Chicago is my favorite city, even in the winter, but not everyone likes frozen eyelashes and blue-tinted lips.

The schedule: quarter vs. semester. I have personally only experienced semester systems, but I gather from others that the quarter system requires keeping up with things better. Also, it can be harder to line up internships or just plain summer jobs if you don’t get back until mid-June. Some think the last month of summer gets lonely if all of your friends are back at school by mid-August. It seems to me that the last point is probably not too big a deal for most.

There are fewer females in sororities at NU. Maybe about 1/3, vs 1/2 at Vanderbilt.

Chicago vs Nashville. NU is not right in the big city, but it is accessible. Vanderbilt is about a mile, mile and a half from the downtown.

Both are great.
