Vandy Girls??

I’m not denying that the stereotype exists…I acknowledged that “there are some girls like this,” and there are. But you can EASILY surround yourself with a group of girls who are not like this if you try. And saying that “many girls will likely not fit in” only occurs if they’re trying to be something that they’re not. Sure, if I tried to fit in with the “VandyGirls” I would fail…but that’s because I don’t own any name-brand purses, I don’t tan, I’m not greek, and I don’t spend 2 hours on my appearance. That said, I’ve never once felt like I don’t fit in…it’s all about finding “your people,” and there is enough diversity at Vanderbilt that you can be a non-VandyGirl and still have a very vibrant social life filled with great friends.
