very general look at top colleges

how about non-HYP Ivies…I think that works. only two more characters than “lower” and more informative.

And stop calling Penn “UPenn”! The school doesn’t call itself that (except for the stupid URL that dates back to some ancient internet protocol), and neither do the vast majority of people affiliated with it. :)

Bccdp .

lol, my bad

Penn actually owns the penn.edu domain (www.penn.edu will forward you to upenn.edu) but are too cheap to deal with switching. schmucks.

Top Colleges:

First, get your computer online and go to the Princeton Review website.

Second, for undergraduates, there are several types of schools: universities, liberal arts colleges, engineering or technological institutes, military academies, and dedicated schools like schools of music, ballet, theatre or art. Of these some are public and some are private.

Third, sit down and examine your profile. Be honest and straightforward. Write down your personality type, your assets, your strengths and weaknesses, your career goals, your behavioral constraints, your financial situation, and what is important to you.

Of all things do not apply to a school because it appears desirable. In the end, your choices will define your success. The rankings for schools vary extensively. Why go to one great school where you will receive C’s when you can attend a great institution and receive A’s.

Each school should be based on “fit, forseability, and financial aid.”

Remember, besides an education, college is an experiential period. Examine the traditions, their way of life, whether you prefer anonymity to an intimate environment and so on.

Best Wishes!

Dear “thoughtprocess”:

Williams is not fratty nor is it as you term it pre-professional.
Williams is in a category all by itself.

Go Purple Valley!
Go EPHS!

“I don’t believe those schools to be in any way “lower” than HYP.”
We prefer the terms “selectivity challenged” or “prestige handicapped”, they are very special in their own way.
