The Vice President gets the same number of cadets/mids as every congressman and US Senator.<br>
The “5” refers to the total number of mids/cadets charged to the office at the academy at any one time.</p>
<p>It is not a drawing. There is NOTHING random about any aspect of admissions to any Service Academy. The decision is made by the Admissions office.</p>
<p>The major difference between the VP and MOC is the MOC submits a slate of 10. From that slate ONE appointment is charged and the others may be appointed as a part of the 150 appointments available from the national pool.
The Vice President does NOT submit a slate of 10 candidates.</p>
