<p>Each Member of Congress and the VP are allowed to have 5 cadets/mids at each of USMA. USNA and USAFA. Most of the time this 5th slot is not filled but held open for an “emergency”.
This roughly works out to one per year. If a cadet/mid should separate before graduation the nominating source to which he/she is credited will pick up an extra slot.</p>
