VILLANOVA REGULAR DECISION CLASS OF 2020

i don’t understand why villanova waitlisted students with higher stats than the admitted students. i heard that it was because the university knows that villanova is their safety school, but still!
i got waitlisted with an ACT score of 34 and a W GPA of 4.5

Received my decision yesterday, Tuesday…I got in! Not my first choice…also was accepted to University of Miami and Penn State Park. Still waiting on others.

To vpark98, Villanova admissions policy is not color-blind. If you are Asian, you may be required to have higher scores than other races in order to be admitted.

@Krishna98 I probably will accept the position because I’ve heard that they accept large numbers off the waiting list. however being the type of student that I am I have been accepted other places and am honestly kind of put off by being waitlisted, so i kind of want to wait on the list and get in just to say i did, but theres practically no chance i will go at this or some later point

@CinnamonSpice yeah, I feel the same way. Honestly, I was really put off by the Waitlist too

@vpark98 I agree, a lot of the higher stats got wait listed

Did you both apply EA and get deferred? If you only applied RD maybe, just a thought, admissions may think you are over qualified and may not accept? They are protecting their yield. I’m sure you guys are great students and don’t ever doubt your high school body of work. Hang in there!

Is anyone here waitlisted for nursing? and do they take people off from the waitlist for nursing?

Accepted to Liberal Arts & Sciences!

So I got waitlisted at Villanova but I got into American where the RD acceptance rate is 25%, much lower than Villanova’s…really happy about the acceptance but sad about Nova

Anyone going to admitted student reception? Going through the cities, it looks like it’s mostly hosted by alumni, inviting admitted students to their homes.

Anyone know what the reception is about and what you do during the reception?

I was accepted into the Business school, beyond excited! Especially since I was denied or waitlisted from basically all my other top schools.

The letter said this year Villanova had a record number of applicants. My D had an ACT score of 34 and W GPA of 4.458 and UW of 4.05. He telephone interview was awesome. Her interviewer was very forthcoming and an alumni. Her family was all legacy. My daughter really wanted to go after talking to her. Now for the financial aid package. It needs to be great.

Accepted. 2040 Sat. 3.8/4.2 gpa. Direct legacy. Non-athlete. Congrats to those that got in. For those that didn’t, plenty of other great schools out there.

D on the waitlist. Heartbroken. Trying to remain positive.

Accepted to A&S!

Is anyone going to a local reception?
