For Undergrads, I’d say more like Villanova A-, Fordham B+. Costs the same, go to the school one prefers Costs the same, likes both the same, go to V. Cost slightly more for V, likes both the same , go t to V. Cost a significant difference with F a lot less, likes both the same, go to F, Cost a significant difference with F a lot, like V slightly more, that’s where the decision gets tough. If he likes V a lot more, and one can make it work without putting family and student at financial risk, then, V would be the go, but if it’s close, with the edge to V, and the Rep, Rank, Recognition edge to V, but really not that much, it really is a judgement call. If doable, I’d probably tell the kid to go where he liked to go and pay the excess, unless it is truly over the budgeted amounts.
