Pitzer students taking classes at the other colleges

I read that students can take classes at the other colleges (Harvey Mudd, Pomona) and even put together a major from classes from the other colleges. What is this like practically speaking? Any problems you can share with me? I really like Pitzer and didn’t get into Harvey Mudd, which has a lot of classes I’m interested in.
