Visiting Nashville

We were in Nashville last summer . I really liked the tours of the Ryman and the Johnny Cash Museum. It is fun just walking around town and catching all the live music everywhere. Hope they have fun!

Did anyone find the cigarette smoke obnoxious in some honky-tonks?

  • Pancake Pantry is an institution
  • Drive through Music Row -- takes just a few minutes. You will also see some of white-columned Belmont U that way (it's quite close to Vandy).
  • The Lower Broadway/2nd Ave area offers Nashville staples like Tootsie's, Wildhorse Saloon, and Legends. It's also where the hockey stadium (Predators) and Ryman Auditorium are.
  • Check out the Parthenon, located in Centennial Park on West End

Road tips:

  • Wedgewood, Blakemore and 31st Ave are the same street.
  • Heading southwest, Broadway splits into 21st Ave (left) and West End (right/straight).The first few northernmost blocks of 21st, after that split, are still called Broadway.

The bars are smoke free.

Are you positive? Some reviews complained about the smoke. The law is any Over-21 bar establishment can opt to allow smoking. If this has changed then I will be very happy!
