Visiting Ohio State- things to see and do

Maybe you could take in a movie at the Gateway on Saturday night? I’m sure at some point in your D’s OSU career, she will do that with friends so it would be fun to have been there yourself. COSI is a science museum that is in Downtown Columbus. North Market (they have a website)-not sure if they are open on sunday. There are a couple of malls not far from campus-Easton Town Center (this one is better) and Polaris Fashion Place. There may be suggestions on the Experience Columbus website (http://www.experiencecolumbus.com/</a>). Franklin Park Conseratory, Columbus Zoo (Brrrrrr…), there are a lot of thrift shops and second hand shops in Clintonville (go north of campus on high street).

My S and I usually eat at Eddie George’s grill. But we need to expand our horizons and try new places too. He likes going places that don’t take the BuckId when I’m around because I pay. I do want to try Jack and Benny’s for breakfast but want to wait until it warms up. They may have a line. Buckeye Donuts is awesome but you really will have to wait outside for that.

I would spend a portion of your time just getting familiar with High Street right across from campus and beyond. It will give you some comfort when she goes to OSU knowing what she is talking about and that you have been there before. Maybe take a drive through the off campus housing areas. There are some really pretty areas and at some point she will probably live off campus or know someone who does.

Hopefully someone else can chime in and give you some ideas too. Have fun on the visit. Let us know what you ended up doing!!
